Frequently asked questions
Is the EPUB translator free?
You can translate the first chapter of any book for free, without an account, to check the quality. Translating the whole book uses credits, from €0.25 each.
How much does it cost to translate a book?
One credit covers 100,000 characters and every book costs at least 2 credits. A typical 300-page novel is about 6 credits. You always see the exact price before you start.
Does the translation keep the formatting?
Yes. Chapters, table of contents, images, italics, bold text and footnotes stay where they were. Only the text is translated.
What is a bilingual EPUB, and does it work on Kindle?
Each paragraph of the original is followed by its translation, and both are kept together on the same page when possible. It works on Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play Books and any EPUB reader, and on Kindle through Send to Kindle.
Which books can I translate?
Any EPUB without DRM up to 25 MB, for your personal use. Books bought from Amazon, Apple or Kobo usually have DRM and cannot be opened. Public-domain classics can be translated and shared freely.
What happens to my files?
Your book is processed with Google's AI only to translate it, and both the original and the translations are deleted after 7 days.
What if the translation fails?
Your credits are returned automatically and you can try again. The parts already translated are kept, so the retry is faster.
